Donald Mennie was a photographer in Shanghai and Peking from 1920 until late 30'. This volume shows photogravures of famous views such as the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and scenes of shopkeepers, merchants, travelers, etc.

Very slight wear to corners of covers, with a few very small holes, and a hint of rippling and sunning. But generally the blue silk binding is in remarkably nice condition that is very rare for this book. Some foxing to endpapers,with slight foxing to the initial text pages. But the photogravures are very clean. Bookplate with gift inscription on front free endpaper. Overall very good.
