Description
Victorian Elegant Etched Celery with EPNS Stand. Exceptional deep etched Daisy and Foliage swag, displays quite well. In very good condition. Base is marked EPNS, no other hallmarks. Celery vases were a fixture on the proper Victorian table in the late 1800's. They would hold fresh celery in water so people could snack on the celery throughout the day. By the 1930's celery vases were out of favor in the modern household, like most Victorian conventions. Today, they have once again found favor and provide a great way to display flowers or to serve celery and carrots. Provenance: A Summerville, South Carolina Private Collection... Measures 7x7x.8.75 weight is 1 pd 5 oz
