Folding chairs were developed in their original shape in ancient Egypt and also entered Europe since the birth of Christ
The present Neorenaissance folding chair is an extremely elegant version of the archaic folding chair and therefore fits as an eye catcher into many beautiful interiors. The chair is made of nutwood and bears a new upholstery with a fine pinkish silk covering. The armrests are designed with carved depictions of Nereids and the side parts are decorated with carved shells, mascarons, dragons and lion heads. The feet of the chair reveal the shape of pawns.
Condition:
The folding chair is in good condition with only light traces of age and use. The nutwood shows some worm-infested areas and there are losses of material. The upholstery has been added later. The overall dimensions of the chair are 92.5 x 64 x 69 cm (height x width x depth).
