Iron red printed mark ‘ED. HONORE A PARIS, Bd. Poissonniere No 6’ underneath
Charming pair of porcelain baskets with openwork decoration and floral handles painted in gold
Diameter including handles: 35 cm
Good Condition
This pair of baskets with handles has been designed in elaborate openwork decor. The floral-shaped handles are fully decorated in gold. Edouard D. Honoré followed his father, François-Honoré Maurice, who has established a porcelain manufactory in Paris in 1785, which was known for its elaborate openwork décor. After the dissolution of his partnership with Dagoty, Edouard continued independently with a salesroom at Boulevard Poissonniere in Paris and a factory at Champroux. These two objects with reticulated basket-work were most probably produced in the mid-19th century.
Each corbeille bears the iron red printed mark ‘Bd. Poissonniere No 6’ underneath. Both baskets are in overall good condition. The gilding is slightly rubbed in places. Diameter including handles: 35 cm. (cru)
