October 24th 1829” signed “SC Chester District, Sarah M Wallace bearing label from South Carolina Quilt History Project 1983-86, McKissick Museum, University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina. L95" W91 From a Private Georgia Collection Note: This quilt was passed down from Sarah M. Wallace to Captain John D. McConnell Jones on to Glenn Dulin. It is one of the very finest examples of South Carolina textile we have examined and is an exceeding rare surviving example.
Condition
Scattered staining to back and front as seen in photos. No tears to perimeter and some abrasions to the raised applied decorations. Overall wear is consistent with age. Borders are in good condition. As found condition with no restorations.
