Engraving of George Washington, dated 1798 after Gilbert Stuart, published by Robert Cribb, London. Titled, "Geo. Washington Esqr. Late President of the United States of America". The outer original plate impression is embossed into the paper. This color print of George Washington wearing his civilian suit of clothes was issued one year prior to his death. An acid free board separates the engraving from the wooden back. Simple gilt frame, possibly original. Condition - old water staining to upper left and top of engraving borders. Size of complete engraving with margins, 10" x 14". Circa 1798.
