Rare dated Southern salt glazed jar with incised line at shoulder and slightly flared rim. Signed in script on the bottom, "E. Gardner 1843". Found in Tennessee, probably Eastern or Middle Tennessee. Condition - very good condition with expected wear and minor, shallow flakes to rim edge. 5 1/8" height. Circa 1843.
