Southern Impressionist oil on board of African American children outside a small house. A small child holds a baby in his arms while another child is playing on the ground. A fire has been kindled under a kettle near the tree in the foreground. Unsigned with an old canvas label verso with pencil inscription with the writing, "Weinsel". Well executed, indicating an academically trained artist. Condition - thin layer of grime, otherwise very good condition. 11 5/8" x 17 3/8" canvas, 13 3/4" x 19 1/2" frame. Frame appears to be original with the canvas. Early 20th century.
