Virginia stoneware jar, signed in script with a "M" on the shoulder area, attributed to Miller pottery, Osceola, Washington County. This jar was exhibited in the "Legacy in Clay: Pottery of Washington County, Virginia" 2005 exhibit, William King Regional Arts Center, Abingdon, VA and is illustrated in the "Legacy in Clay" museum exhibit catalog. Smalled pulled handles applied to each side. Miller was known to have signed his wares with a "M" in script. Condition - old, minor rim chips. 13 1/2" height. Circa 1870.
