Folk art checkerboard box found in Kentucky. Black painted bottom and sides with inscribed checkerboard on top sliding board. The underside of the sliding board is marked with a honeycomb design with various writing. The well contains wooden checkers. Old leather strap handle for carrying. Very good condition. 10 5/8" x 17 1/8" x 2 3/4". Early 20th century.
