Pair of Tennessee coin silver table spoons, marked, "J. M. Smith" (John M. Smith, Nashville, active 1840-1845). For examples of Smith's work and his marks, refer to "Tennessee Silversmiths", Benjamin Caldwell, p. 156, illustrations 119d and 119c for the mark. Condition - slight scratches to midsection of handle on one spoon, otherwise excellent. 7 1/4" length.
