American miniature portrait of a young lady on ivory, appears to be in the original frame. The old backing has remnants of a newspaper referencing the United States. Very good condition. 2 5/8" x 3 1/4" portrait, frame 6" x 6 3/4". Descended a Wilmington, DE family. Probably Wilmington or Philadelphia. Circa 1780-1800.
