Miniature painted red chest, consisting of three graduated drawers with cut corner designs around the original painted pulls, gold decorated border around each drawer pull and gold decorated border around applied architectural drops to the top of each stile. Tapered feet with cut graduated step, gold decorated border around top and backsplash, cut nail construction of drawers and case. Primary wood appears to be poplar. Overall very good condition with old split to back edge of rear right foot. 13 1/2" height x 8 1/4" depth x 13 1/2" width. Circa 1830-1840. American, Mid Atlantic States or New England.
