Inuit seal carving

Inuit stone carving of seal. Original Canadian Eskimo art label on bottom with number inscribed, "36026" as well as Inuit syllabics. Very good condition. 7 5/8" x 2". Circa 1960s. Commentary - the syllabics translate to MI A JI PA LA MI. The Miaji corresponds to a couple of artists but neither of them appeared to have a connection to Palami. Both of these artists hailed from Salluit in Artic Quebec and the stone and carving are fairly consistent with works from that area (Courtesy of Bob Selley, Inuit Gallery of Vancouver).
