Sculpture of two sitting figures, the male figure rests his arm around her shoulder

Good condition
This wooden sculpture from Mali depicts a female and a male nude body. A decorative band is carved across the stomach of both figures and the woman is shown with an elongated neck. The man rests his arm on her shoulder. The Dogon people are located in Western-Africa and in the East of Mali. The people are famous for its carved objects, especially for over hundred different types of masks and sculptures.
The sculpture is in very good condition with few signs of use. It measures 26 cm in height. (amb)
