The present alabastron was manufactured in the 6th or 5th century BC in Egypt. It was originally used by women to retain aromatic liquids and is fitted with a closure plug. The alabastron stands out in particular through the beautiful color and the grain of the alabaster.
The piece is in good condition, showing small nicks to the edge and the plug. The height is 14.2 cm. (cko)
