Lot 912: c. 1880 Gold Marshal's Badge

c. 1880 Gold Marshal's Badge from Junction City, Choice Extremely Fine.
An interesting, shield-shaped badge made of a low grade (most likely 10K gold). Nearly 2" tall from top to bottom and slightly over 1.5" wide. The original pinback is still attached and in good working order. Engraved "Geo Wells / Marshall / Junction City." The U.S. has more than one Junction City, but we suspect that this one came from Kansas. Rare, and most certainly unique.
