From Van Johnson's Scrapbook Rare Autographed Photos of Lillian Gish & Ruth Warrick - From the personal infamous scrapbooks of MGM's star Van Johnson comes two extremely rare autographed photographs. The first comes all the way from 1937, and is inscribed with a special message from legendary actress Lillian Gish, whose career literally began at the birth of motion pictures in 1912 and continued through over 120 productions up to her award -winning performance in 1987 in "The Whales of August". Of course she is well known for becoming Hollywood's innovated director DW Griffith's favorite actress, in such groundbreaking classics as "The Birth of A Nation" and "Intolerance". She also became a respected producer and director in her own right. An extremely private woman, autographed photos of this legend are extremely rare, especially those with hand-written inscriptions. Also included is an equally rare autographed photograph of actress Ruth Warrick, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Charles Foster Kane's wife in the ultimate classic "Citizen Kane", as well as well as starring in over 50 other productions, including her popular role as Phoebe Tyler Wallingford in the long running soap opera "All My Children". It is inscribed to Evie Johnson, her lifelong friend. Both photos are B&W 8x10. The rare Lillian Gish photo is in excellent condition and shows signs of normal patina aging.
