Item Details
Description
A fine Lambayeque (Sican) stirrup bottle, ca. 700 - 1300 AD. It is 8-1/4 in high and features a bridge handle that is intricately decorated with pyramid designs. Serpent heads protrude from the base of the spouts. Chamber and flared base show good mineral deposits and trails. Ex Gallatin estate. Cf. Domingo 'Arquelogia Andina Peru', page 227, for similar from Madrid’s Museo de America.
