Order of St. Michael and St. George Grand Cross (First Class). Includes: The collar chain formed alternately of the Lion of England, Maltese crosses, and the letters S.M and S.G. In the center are 2 winged lions, each holding arrows; The Star, a seven-armed, silver-rayed 'Maltese Asterisk' with a gold ray in between each pair of arms and a red cross of St George. In the center of the star is a dark blue ring bearing the motto of the Order. Inside the ring is a picture of St Michael trampling on Satan; The Badge is a seven-armed, white-enameled 'Maltese Asterisk' .The obverse shows St. Michael trampling on Satan, the reverse depicts St. George on horseback killing a dragon, both within a dark blue ring bearing the motto of the Order. Attached plaque reads: Order of St. Michael and St. George Grand Cross (1st Class), conferred upon British subjects for service (in the diplomatic corps. etc.) in the Commonwealth or in foreign Countries.
