‘Uzi Lover I’ is an offset lithograph in colors by the English artist Antony Micallef from 2007. The artist experiments in his works with combinations of political images with contemporary expressionism. In doing so, he examines the current questions of a complex generation and their relation to consumerism and indulgence.
The print is signed lower right in pencil ‘Antony Micallef’, numbered lower left in pencil ‘318/400’ and bears a blindstamp by Curwen Chilford. The work is in very good condition. The dimensions of the sheet are 67.7 x 64.5 cm.
Antony Micallef (b. 1975)
As a graduate of the University of Plymouth he won the second prize of the BP Portrait Award in 2000. His career landmarks include a solo exhibition on Hollywood Boulevard and a participation in the group exhibition AKA Peace curated by Jake Chapman as well as an exhibition in Bethlehem that was curated by Banksy. Recent exhibitions took place at the Royal Academy and Tate Britain in London. (tm)
