Rob Jew, Carved Leather-covered Dean ML Electric Guitar: One of the most magnificent and detailed leather works ever created on a guitar. This is a one-of-a-kind fully playable and displayable Instrument of Art. Complete with electronics, pick-ups, strings and hardware installed at Dean USA. This guitar has been fully handcrafted; tooled, stitched and dyed by renowned artist Robert Jew. This Dean ML has not only a tooled front, but also tooled sides and back! Chris Gill, Senior Editor of Guitar One Magazine, describes Robert's creations as, "three-dimensional sculptures that provide enjoyment for the eyes as well as the ears- and even the sense of touch for the lucky musicians who get to play these instruments." Robert Jew is a nationally recognized, award winning artist. Early in his career, Robert found himself working extensively in the entertainment industry, taking on everything from designing stage elements for David Lee Roth's 'A Little Ain't Enough' World Tour to designing motion graphics for movie and television main title introductions. Robert lent his talents to the creation of the Lagoon show at the theme based Las Vegas casino Treasure Island, as well as produce several paintings that would become the large environment for the Disneyworld attraction DisneyQuest. In 1997, he was commissioned to create the artwork for the Official International Earthday Celebration poster. The poster, which was commissioned by the U.S. government, was displayed in every U.S. embassy around the world. Most recently, Robert's work has been concentrated on his series of leather covered guitars. "I love Baroque art and the sensual, organic line. I find people always wanting to touch my paintings for some reason, so the leather covered guitar, to me, is the most ideal thing to work on. It enables a person to touch, feel, smell, create and interact. It's a vehicle of seduction on so many levels." Proceeds from the sale of this guitar go to support Little Kids Rock.
