Description
A late 19th century 15ct gold gem-set necklace. The oval-shape slider, with blue-gem and foliate engraved detail, to the rope-link swag and back-chain. Length 45cms. Weight 10.1gms.
Condition
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches and areas of discolouration in keeping with general age and wear. The necklace has been made up of late 19th century component parts. Rough edges and soft solder visible to the additional adjoining chain. The slider pendant has been fixed to one area of one of the chains. Some chain links significantly worn, some have been unevenly repaired. The blue gem has a chip to one side and moderate abrasion.
