Description
An Edwardian 18ct gold opal and diamond ring. The three slightly graduated oval opal cabochons, with old-cut diamond triple spacers, to the scrolling gallery and sides. Estimated total diamond weight 0.25ct. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1901. Weight 6.4gms.
Condition
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Band shows evidence of repair/ resize. The opals are likely replacements with wear to the mounts, evidence of re-tipping. Diamonds fairly bright. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Scattered, mostly small inclusions. Opals significantly abraded with small nicks. Fair play of colour. Ring size M 1/2. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
