February 9, 1953, Typed Letter Signed, John Kennedy," 1 page, 10.5" X 8," Very Fine. This letter, from early in Kennedy’s career, is typed on stationery of the United States Senate Committee on Labor and Public Welfare. Addressed to Sidney L. Kaye, a prominent Boston Jewish figure, this letter reads in full: "Since I have been moving about continuously, since the election, I have been delayed in writing to thank you for your assistance during the campaign. Your efforts meant much to our success, and I am very grateful to you for your help. I am looking forward to seeing you sometime soon to thank you personally. With every good wish for the New Year." Below his blue ink signature there is a personal note in the same pen and hand, "Many thanks Sidney for your help." This letter was written shortly after Kennedy’s first election to the Senate. Aside from tape residue across the top edge and a damp stain causing some ink bleeding, this letter is in very nice condition. A fine early John F. Kennedy autograph.
