Verner Panton (1926-1998)
The Danish architect and designer Verner Panton is one of the most important and influential designers of the 20th century. After studying at the Technical University in Odense and at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen he worked for Arne Jacobsen. He quickly developed his own personal style. Panton preferred artificial materials and loud colors, conferring the pop art aesthetic to furniture and interior decoration, which strongly influenced our image of the sixties and seventies. His designs such as the Panton Chair and the Moon Lamp are considered as milestones of design history until the present day.
