The lighting series Fun is one of the most famous and popular items of Danish designer Verner Panton. There are many variations in size and shape which all have one thing in common: the mother-of-pearl hanging creates a mellow light atmosphere and a nice sound when the warm air wafts throught it.



The lamp measures 60 cm in height and 40 cm in diameter. It is in good condition with a few signs of age and wear.



Verner Panton (1926-1998)

The Danish architect and designer Verner Panton is one of the most important and influential designers of the 20th century. After studying at the Technical University in Odense and at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen he worked for Arne Jacobsen. Despite this, he quickly developed his own personal style. He preferred artificial materials and loud colors, conferring the pop art aesthetic to furniture and interior decoration, which strongly influenced our image of the sixties and seventies. His designs such as the Panton Chair, the Moon Lamp and the interior of the publishing house of the ‘Spiegel’ in Hamburg were groundbreaking and are considered as milestones of design history until the present day.
