Description
Sevres Style Porcelain Vase, c. 1900, the ormolu neck with champleve detailing, over the baluster porcelain body decorated with cherubs and musical instruments, supported by three gilt bronze ormolu cherubs that terminate in claw feet, on a tripartite base with champleve decoration, H.- 28 1/2 in., Dia.- 11 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. Feet and rim with a nice patina. An approximately 2 inch shallow chip is observed to one side, below the bronze band. Vase is slightly discolored behind cherub’s heads. A ¼ inch loss to gilt decoration is noted along one side, just above the bronze band, with a scattered few smaller losses to gilt and champlevé decoration seen throughout. A striking example.
