Description
French Provincial Inlaid Carved Walnut Tall Case Clock, 19th c., the arched top above a brass repousse face over an enameled dial, marked "Arnauld a Angouleme," over a long pendulum door, on a base with three faux drawers, on ogee block feet, H.- 104 1/2 in., W.- 19 1/2 in., D.- 12 1/2 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. Not tested for working order. Movement and pendulum are present, but no weights are included. Scattered nicks and scratches to wood are seen throughout. Front clock face door does not close flush. Small losses to molding below clock doors are seen to the right and left side panels. Some old worm damage is present, and observed mainly to the pendulum door, the base, and the feet, with some corresponding shallow chips to the feet and along the back edges of the body. An approximately 3 inch section of wood at the base is seen with separations and is loose, but still attached. A handsome example.
