Description
Rome, ca. 2nd - 3rd century CE. A large ancient glass unguentarium with elongated sack-like body with pontil scar on rounded bottom, tubular neck and in-folded rim comprised of blue-green glass with areas of rainbow iridescence. Size: ~4-1/2"H (11.5 cm).
Provenance: Ex-Attal private collection, Austin, Texas, via family descent from great uncle, acquired in first quarter of 20th century.
