Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, Comala Style, ca. 200 BCE - 200 CE. Standing pottery figure, nude aside from loincloth, incised with elaborate geometric decoration, and headband. The figure stands with arms at sides and legs apart, all the while looking tranquil with nearly closed coffee-bean shaped eyes, aquiline nose, and solemn expression. Size: 14-3/4"H x 7"W x 4"D.
Provenance: Ex-Laguna Niguel, CA private collection, acquired prior to 1985.
