Description
Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Moche II /III ca 300 to 400 CE. Fine pottery stirrup vessel - often used to store chicha, a type of early Native beer - in the form of a seated warrior. He wears a striped tunic and decorated textile cap, face tattooed, rounded crown holds his headband to his head. Size: 7-1/2" H.

Provenance: Ex-D. Jeppesen private collection, acquired before 1982.
