Pre-Columbian, Colombia, ca. 850-1500 CE. Spectacular pedestal bowl, body decorated with a black-on-cream negative resist pattern and a red rim and central circular motif. The iconographic theme is comprised of egg-like forms likely symbolizing fertility. The underside shows remains of net pattern. Size: 7-1/2" D x 3"H.
Provenance: Ex-Private J. Gonzalez collection, Pennsylvania, acquired prior to 1970.
