Good condition
The present mask, referred to as ‘ntomo’, belongs to the first initiation level within the Bambara society. During this initiation stage the boys are taught how to suffer in silence.

Condition:
The mask is in good condition with signs of wear consistent with age and use. Light material abrasions and minor losses to the coating. One shell has been reattached. The dimensions are 53 x 15 cm.
