Description

Antique Folio engraving with hand painted mat. Charles Lewis printmaker, publisher Hodgson & Graves circa 1839. Paper size 30" x 20" and framed 39" x 30". Sir Francis Grant was a Scottish portrait painter who painted Queen Victoria and many distinguished British aristocratic and political figures of the day. He served as President of the Royal Academy. He acquired a reputation as a fine painter of "sporting" subjects, and in 1834 exhibited at the Royal Academy.
