Paul Philippe counts among the most influential sculptors of the Art Deco movement; his artworks with female beauties fetch top prices up to €70,000 in international auctions
Paul Philippe was well known for his dancing beauties. With ease, a female dancer stands on a plinth fitted with roses in the arabesque position.
Condition:
The bronze is in good overall condition with only slight signs of age and wear. The bronze measures 31 cm in height, the total height including base is 38 cm.
Paul Philippe (1870-1930)
Paul Philippe studied sculpture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Antonin Larroux (1859-1913). He made works from bronze, ivory as well as in combination of both materials. Philippe regularly exhibited his works in the Parisian Salons.
