The 3 lithographs in colors are overall in very good condition with an insignificant surface soiling in the left margin of one sheet. The images measure each ca. 31 x 30.5 cm, the sheets each 50 x 45.5cm.



Théo Tobiasse (1927-2012)

Théo Tobiasse was born in the British Mandate of Palestine and moved to Paris with his parents at the age of six. During the occupation by the Nazis, the Jewish family had to hide. Théo began to draw what gave him an opportunity to an inward escape from the narrowness and the fear of discovery. After the war Tobiasse worked as a commercial artist. In 1960 he first showed paintings at the Salon de la Mediterranée in Nice and won the first prize. As a result galleries got aware of the young painter, so he subsequently could devote himself entirely to his artistic career. Théo Tobiasse developed his own pictorial language, which often combines the impressions of his childhood and youth as well as his many study trips with biblical or erotic elements.
