Terry O’Neill (British, b. 1938)
British photographer Terry O’Neill is famous for his documentation of fame, capturing the icons of the twentieth century from Winston Churchill to Nelson Mandela, from Frank Sinatra and Elvis to Amy Winehouse, from Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot to Nicole Kidman, as well as members of the British Royal Family. Often photographing his subjects in unconventional or candid settings, O’Neill shows a more natural side to his famed subjects not depicted elsewhere. One of the most collected photographers, his work has been exhibited at the Getty Image Gallery in London, the San Francisco Art Exchange, and the Leeds Gallery and is in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London.
