Pre-Columbian, Central America, Panama, Gran Cocle culture, ca. 800-1200 CE. Polychrome ceramic plate painted with symmetrically opposed amphibian-like saurian forms. The ancient artisan employed a color scheme of red and black on cream ground. Size: 10-3/8" D.
