Pre-Columbian, central coast of Peru, ca 1000 to 1300 CE. First, small hollow-molded llama in terracotta painted with brown stripes, 3-1/2"H. Along with a molded pottery Cuchimilco figure. Hands to chest, legs spread and wearing large headdress. Added black and white pigments, 5-1/2" H.
Provenance: Ex-Poolos collection acquired before 1970.
