Details/Condition:Striking pop art image in this vintage piece, hand-silkscreened with five colors, including metallic silver. This print is part of a series of six pop and op (optical) art pieces that we are selling at this auction, which were originally purchased at an Ithaca, NY art shop in 1970 and were printed in 1969 by Multiples, Inc.. This lot includes the shown seriograph, encased in clear acetate with stiff backing. The image features a series of paint tubes oozing paint. The piece is assembled in layers, with a silkscreened background, and at least two layers of hand-cut silkscreened acetate overlays. The acetate sheets are die-cut, following the contours of the paint flow. The print is in mint or near mint condition, the clear encasing has served its purpose well and has light age/wear.
