Rare Grueby/Pardee Alice In Wonderland Scene Tile Depicting Gryphon Asleep. In bold, polychrome enamel decoration, Gryphon is tan and white, asleep on green grass with a blue sky in the background. Artwork lined in black. The borders of the tile are glazed in the same deep green as the grass. Impressed mark on the back "The C. Pardee Works" 4 3/8 inches square, 5/16 inches deep very good condition with no chips or cracks. White paint remains along all borders.
