A very fine hunter cane. The walrus ivory handle is 4 3/4" high and 1 1/4" at its widest. It depicts in nice detail, a hunter with high boots climbing a low tree stump. His game bag is slung over a stub of a branch at his feet, and he is holding his flintlock rifle by its barrel top. He seems to be examining a capped receptacle to deposit or remove a cache of small game. There is a 1/3" ringed collar on a hardwood shaft, perhaps chestnut. A 1 1/4" burnished brass ferrule completes the piece. The overall length is 36 3/4" and the condition is very good with minor roughness on the hunter’s cap.
