Description

A very nice carved cane of mice. The "L" ivory handle is 1 1/4" high and 4 1/2" to the side. There are four frolicking and nipping mice nicely relief-carved in the ivory as well as a small square ivory makers mark. Additionally there is a decorated 1 1/4" silver end-cap. The 3/4" silver collar has worn London hallmarks for the 1890?s and the natural de-barked hardwood shaft ends with a 1" burnished brass ferrule. The overall length is 37 1/4" and the general condition is very good. It is English, made with an imported handle and it is part of the collection of George & Carol Milne. Estimate: $900-$1300.
