Description
A very fine jade cane with jewels, probably by Faberge. The cylindrical jade handle is 4" high and 3/4" across the top. The lower sides are nicely decorated with gold scrolling that is inlaid with dozens of rose-cut diamonds and cabochon rubies. There is a 2/3" gold and pale blue enamel collar that is guilloche decorated and overlaid with matching diamonds and rubies. There are very worn marks that are probably Faberge but are not fully distinguishable. The shaft is ebony with a 7/8" horn ferrule. The overall length is 35 3/4" and the general condition is very good. It is a wonderful ca 1900 example from the fine collection of the late Philip Hampton. According to the consignor, Mr. Hampton obtained it from the private collection of a noted London dealer/collector in the 1990's. Estimate: $5000-$7000.
