Description
A great pewter shoe cane. The "L" pewter handle is 3 2/3" high and 4 1/4" long. It depicts a high button left shoe with a toe protruding at the tip, a worn-down sole, a hole on the inner side showing stocking material, four broken and missing buttons and finally, a rolled up stocking sticking out of the shoe. The detail is outstanding. The shaft is briarwood with a 1 1/4" white metal and iron ferrule. The overall length is 35" and the condition is very good. It is American, ca 1890, and it is a super example of the type and it is part of the George & Carol Milne Collection. Estimate: $900-$1300.
