Condition:

The bronze is in very good condition, showing minor abrasion of the patina and slight marks from glue. The height of the figure is 27 cm, and the marble base measures 6.5 cm in height.

Dominique Alonzo (active 1910-1930)

Dominique Alonzo was a pupil of Alexandre Falguière (1831-1900) and exhibited at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français from 1912 to 1926 in the. He focused on figurines and animal depictions in bronze and rendered them with a wealth of detail. He often combined ivory and bronze. Today, works of Dominique Alonzo are in major museum collections, including the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. (cko)
