Collection of 14 Civil War Officer & Politican Autographs
c. 1861-1865, Group of Fourteen Signatures by Civil War Officers and Politicians, Extremely Fine.
This large Collection of Autographs consists of 14 Different Signatures by various Civil War Officers and Politicians. Each name has been clipped from the original document and is held in its own archival envelope with a handwritten card identifying the signature. A great collection of autographs from many notable Civil War heroes. This Collection includes:

-Maj. William D. Dickey, Medal of Honor Winner, at Second Battle of Petersburg, Virginia.

-Sgt. Thomas W. Bradley, received the Medal of Honor for actions on May 3, 1863 at the Battle of Chancellorsville, later a United States Representative from New York.

-Brevet Brigadier General Charles Henry Tompkins. He was a recipient of the Medal of Honor for valor in action on June 1, 1861 in the Battle of Fairfax Court House.

-Major General William Worth Belknap, Secretary of War under Grant.

-Brevet Major General James Jourdan.

-Brevet Brigadier General Lewis Benedict, killed at Battle of Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, 1864.

-Brevet Brigadier General Daniel D. Bidwell, killed at Battle of Cedar Creek, 1864.

-Brevet Brigadier General Matthew Henry Avery, lead charge at Sailor’s Creek, April 1865.

-Thomas J. Oakley, abolitionist leader, United States Representative and New York State Attorney General.

-Edwin Croswell, American journalist and politician.

-Christopher Morgan, U.S Representative from New York, and Secretary of State of New York.

-Brigadier General John Converse Starkweather, wounded at Chickamauga.

-Major General Elwell Stephen Otis.

-Brevet Brigadier General William S. Stryker, Military historian.
