Jacquard Woven Silk Image - Betsy Ross & First US Flag
c. 1890, Woven Silk Picture Depiction of Betsy Ross Making the First United States Flag, by Anderson Brothers, Patterson, N.J., Framed, Choice Extremely Fine.
Original beautiful Jacquard-woven silk picture measures approximately 8” x 5” by sight, matted and framed to an overal size of 12.75” x 9.75”. Manufactured by Anderson Bros., Paterson, N.J. in the late 1800s, this marvelous illustration features Betsy Ross making the first United States flag. Ross is depicted sitting and sewing the flag with her spinning wheel. Black and white illustration features still-vibrant coloring on the flag itself in blue and red. Some trivial minor loss of thread on the lower right edge yet in overall excellent “Museum Quality” condition.
