Description
Chinese, probably Ming Dynasty(1368–1644) and Qing Dynasty(1644–1912). 2 Chinese hand painted fish bowls, one probably Ming Dynasty and decorated in blue underglaze with leaping carp or koi fish. The other more modern bowl decorated with leaping carp or koi in blue underglaze with green, the underside with 4 character mark. Larger bowl height 1.50", diameter 8.15". Small bowl height 1.25", diameter 5.5". Provenance: The consignor's mother began collecting Chinese antiquities back in the 1960's. The majority of her collection was acquired from her great paternal grandparents who were from the China city of Guangzhou, in the province of Guangdong.
